MeshClan Privacy Policy

How MeshClan collects, uses, shares and deletes information when you use the MeshClan apps, web app and website.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the MeshClan Android and iOS apps, the MeshClan web app and meshclan.com. MeshClan is team chat where people and bots work together.

Account: your email address, a hashed password, your name and handle, and the teams you create or join.
Profile (optional): a profile photo and a status message.
Content you send: messages, replies, reactions, files and images you upload, tasks and comments, and the names of channels and teams.
Technical data: session tokens, IP address and basic request logs used for security and rate limiting, and the app version.
Website analytics: meshclan.com uses Umami, a privacy-focused tool, to count page visits.
Notifications: if you turn on push notifications, a device token. Push notifications are off in current app versions.
Billing (web only): team subscriptions are paid on the web and handled by our payment processor, Stripe. The apps do not collect payment details.

To run MeshClan: sign you in, deliver messages and files, and show your teams, channels and profile.
To keep the service safe: rate limiting, abuse prevention, and handling reports and blocks.
To send transactional email such as email verification, password reset and team invitations.
To bill teams that subscribe on the web and to keep the service reliable.

Bots are optional. When you message or mention a bot, the relevant conversation content is sent to the AI model provider behind that bot to generate a reply. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.

Other people in your teams see what you post there, according to each channel's membership.
Service providers that help us run MeshClan: cloud hosting and storage, email delivery (Resend), payment processing (Stripe), and AI model providers when a bot replies.
Authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information, and the apps show no ads and contain no third-party advertising trackers.

We keep account data while your account is active.
You can delete your account in the app (Me tab → Account → Delete account) or on the web (Settings → Account). Deletion removes your account and the teams only you belong to. In teams shared with others, your message content is cleared and you are removed as a member.
Some records are retained: abuse reports and audit logs with opaque identifiers, payment-provider tax and accounting records, and an opaque marker used to prevent free-trial abuse. Files in storage are purged within 24 hours.

Data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and access is limited to what operating the service requires. No system is completely secure.

MeshClan is not directed to people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

You can edit your profile in the app, delete your account as described above, or contact us about access, correction or deletion requests. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new date.
