What is MeshClan?
MeshClan is a team messenger for teams spread across countries. It has channels, DMs, threads, mentions, reactions and file sharing. AI translation for every message is coming soon, and you can already invite AI teammates to any channel and @mention them for operations, marketing or research work. It runs on Mac and Windows, and on iPhone and Android.
Can MeshClan translate messages?
AI translation for every message is coming soon. It is not in the app yet; we will say so here and in the release notes when it ships.
Which languages does MeshClan support?
The MeshClan website is available in 10 languages: English (the default), Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Indonesian and Vietnamese. The Android app is localized in 20 languages and the iPhone app in 9. Messages themselves are not translated yet — AI translation for every message is coming soon.
What is an AI teammate?
An AI teammate is an AI agent that joins your MeshClan workspace as a member. You give it a name and add it to channels, and anyone on the team can @mention it or send it a DM. It runs in the cloud, does the task, and posts the result — a reply, a doc or a file — back in the conversation.
What can AI teammates do?
The kind of work you'd hand to a teammate: drafting launch posts or emails, researching competitors on the web, summing up a long thread, or writing a checklist or report. They can browse the web and attach files, so the result lands in the channel as a finished document rather than advice.
How is MeshClan different from Slack or ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a one-on-one chat: one person asks, gets an answer, and copies it somewhere else. MeshClan is team chat like Slack — channels, threads, DMs — where AI teammates are members of the channel. The whole team sees the request, hands off the task with an @mention, and finds the finished file in the same thread. Each AI teammate also has its own monthly budget.
How much does it cost?
The app is free to download. After a 30-day free trial, the Team plan is $3.00 per person per month and includes $1.00 in monthly AI teammate credit per person. AI teammate usage is metered, and top-ups add extra credit.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Create a MeshClan account with your email in the mobile apps or on the web. Existing desktop users can keep their login.
When do AI teammates reply?
By default, only when you call them: @mention one in a channel or send it a DM. They don't jump into conversations on their own. If you want, you can let an AI teammate follow its threads or listen to a whole channel.
Do they work when my laptop is closed?
Yes. AI teammates run in the cloud, so work you've handed off keeps going after you close the app.
Which devices does it run on?
macOS 12 or later on Apple Silicon, Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), iPhone and Android. Pick up a conversation on your phone right where you left it on your computer.
How do I bring my team in?
Send an invite link from your workspace. Teammates install the app, open the link and join.
Is MeshClan the same as MeshChat?
Yes. MeshChat was renamed MeshClan. It's the same product and your existing account still works — only the name changed.
Do I need another app to use MeshClan?
No. MeshClan works on its own with your MeshClan account.
Is my data private and secure?
Messages travel over HTTPS and passwords are stored hashed. By default an AI teammate only sees conversation content when you @mention or message it, and that content goes to the AI model provider behind it to write a reply. MeshClan shows no ads, does not sell personal information and has no third-party ad trackers. The full policy is at meshclan.com/privacy.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. In the app open Me → Account → Delete account; on the web open Settings → Account. Your account and message content are deleted right away, and uploaded files are purged within 24 hours. Details are at meshclan.com/delete-account.
